I'm back!

Wow, it is hard to believe how time flies.  I will be doing some updating soon since I have been absent from this blog for the last year!  Shame on me!  As for today, it is the last day of the 2011-2012 school year.  It has been a good year and has gone very fast as usual.  Hard to believe that Connor will be heading to middle school next year and Cody will be in 2nd grade!  Wow!  This morning when I talked to Cody before going to school he said to me "I will miss Connor next year."  He is so sweet.  He liked having his big brother there at school and would see him and talk to him in the halls.  He also asked me if there was time added to the school day for each grade you go up.  I said no there isn't and Connor said "Cody, if there was more time added for each year, I will be at school a lot later in the day than you."  :-)

Connor is a Terrific Kid!

On March 21, 2011 we had the honor of attending a Terrific Kids assembly at school to watch Connor receive an award. The theme was hard work and Connor received an award for "being one of the hardest workers in class. He puts forth his best effort to produce the best work he can." We are so proud of him!

Connor turns 10!

Hard to believe that Connor turned 10 on March 18, 2011. He is turning into a wonderful young man and Travis and I are very proud of him! We are excited to continue to see him excel in the future.

Termite Jamboree

On March 5, 2011 Cody participated in the Termite Jamboree. He had a lot of fun and enjoyed another successful hockey season.

Be my Valentine...

I helped out in Cody's class on Valentine's Day. It is so much fun to see how excited the kids are to receive and give Valentine's to their classmates. As the teacher was reading a book to the children about the history of Valentine's Day, a little, dark-haired girl walked in from the classroom next door and asked if Cody was there. I just happened to be standing there and said yes he is. She proceeded to give me a Valentine and asked me to give it to him. It turns out that this is a girl that Cody has talked about and also goes to AWANA at church. When I found out, I told her that I was Cody's mom and she said "nice to meet you" before heading back to her class. Awwwww...it was so sweet.

Uh oh!

Well, I was hoping this day wouldn't come this early, but today I received a call from school. Mr. Goetz, the school administrator, told me that he had Cody in his office along with another boy from Cody's class. Apparently, Cody's teacher asked Mr. Goetz to talk to the boys regarding their behavior. They had been shoving and hitting each other so the teacher decided they should be taken aside to make sure they know the rules. We will see what Cody's take is on this when we talk to him about it this evening...stay tuned.

Do you feel that too?

The other day Cody and I went out to lunch with Travis before Cody had to go to school. We went to pick Travis up from work. There are several hills around the hospital. As we were on our way to eat, we had to travel over some of the hills. When we were going over one Cody said "that makes my peepee giggle and makes me feel like I have to pee." "Do you feel that too?" Travis and I just looked at each other and laughed.
